I don’t need animations that often, why should I subscribe instead of hiring a freelancer every time? • A good freelancer’s day rate can range from $500–$1000+, so it’s easy to see how quickly you save money with Motion Plus. • You don’t have to worry about availability with us. We’re always here to churn out the deliverables you need in a timely manner. • You can pause the subscription any time, so one month could have you covered for as long as your project requirements dictate.
Why wouldn't I just hire a full-time animator? • Great question. To begin with, the salary of a full-time senior-level animator now exceeds $100,000 + benefits (not to mention the difficulty of finding and hiring one). Aside from that, you may not always have enough work to keep them busy at all times, so you're stuck paying for time you aren't able to utilize. • With our monthly plan, you can pause and resume your subscription as often as you need to ensure you're paying your motion designer/VFX artist/animator only when you have work available for them.
Does one request mean one deliverable at a time? • Once subscribed, you're able to add as many projects and deliverables to your queue as you'd like, and they will be delivered one at a time. However, the nature of deliverables wildly fluctuates depending on the project’s specific needs, so revisions and simpler requests may come faster. • For example, if the project needs a working 16x9 version for YouTube and when that’s approved, conversions to 4x5 for Instagram, and 9x16 for TikTok, the social conversions would all be delivered together.
How fast will I receive my deliverables? • On average, most requests are completed in just two days or less for anything under 15 seconds long. However, more complex requests can take longer.
Who are the artists? • Motion+ is a nimble studio of two. This means you'll work directly with one of the co-founders. However, if our queue gets particularly heavy or if a project demands a specialist, we may call upon our trusted partner artists.
How does the pause feature work? • We understand you may not have enough motion design work to fill up the entire month. Perhaps you only have one or two requests at the moment. That's where pausing your subscription comes in handy. • Billing cycles are based on a 31 day period. Let's say you sign up and use the service for 21 days, and then decide to pause your subscription. This means that the billing cycle will be paused and you'll have 10 days of service remaining to be used anytime in the future. Just send an email to _________ with “Pause subscription” in the title.
What programs do you use? • Most of our work is done in After Effects, but we also use Cinema 4D, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Adobe Audition, and have experience with many others.
How do I request deliverables? • Motion Plus offers a ton of flexibility in how you request videos. Some common ways our clients send us requests is directly via email, Slack, sharing Google docs, or Figma files. Whatever way you prefer to convey your ideas, we can fill in the blanks. And we can always hop on a quick call if we need to get everyone on the same page.
What if I don't like the design? • Not a problem! We'll continue to revise until you love it.
Is there motion/VFX/animation work you don't cover? • Definitely. Motion+ does not cover the following work: 3D modeling, web-based motion, complex character animation, traditional illustrated animation, advanced VFX/compositing, and extensive rotoscoping.
What if I only have a single request? • We’d still recommend a subscription, because you can simply pause when finished and return when you have additional motion needs. There's no need to let the remainder of your subscription go to waste. • However if you’d like a one-off trial before being confident enough to subscribe, we can figure out an arrangement depending on your project’s needs. Are there any refunds if I don't like the service? • Due to the high quality nature of the work, there will be no refunds issued.
